When he saw what was happening, he knew he had to intervene, writes viral4things. On Valentine’s Day, biker Brandon Turnbow showed how much love was in his heart when he stopped everything to save an abused dog.
As Turnbow rode his motorcycle on Highway 171 in Texas, he had plans to spend a day with his father. While on his journey, he came across a distressing scene of a heartless man mistreating a small Jack Russell. Shocked and outraged, Turnbow immediately planned to confront the man. However, before he could say anything, the cruel individual threw the helpless dog over the curb and drove away.
The little dog was hurt and scared, and Turnbow knew he couldn’t just leave him there.
Turnbow slowly approached the dog, which was trembling. Turnbow was afraid the dog would run into traffic, but luckily it didn’t move.
“I’m taking a chance and bending my body over him to see if he’ll bite or trust me,” Turnbow wrote on Facebook. “Then he puts his body inside me shaking, so I get up with him in my arms and put him on the seat of the bike. I was thinking now what?”
Turnbow knew he had to move quickly, but he didn’t want to frighten the dog further. So before heading back down the road, he started the motorcycle to help the pup get used to the vibrations. Once the dog seemed comfortable, Turnbow put the little Jack Russell in the bag.
When he saw the dog’s big eyes looking at him, he immediately fell in love.
“I looked in the rear view and saw this guy throw the dog out into the open and walk away. I went after the guy just to give him a number one sign,” Brandon said on Facebook. “And now I have a co-pilot – Meet Mr. DAVIDSON.”
Turnbow named the dog Mr. Davidson after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and took the puppy home with him that day. Luckily, Mr. Davidson loved to ride his Turnbow motorcycle with him!
“I try to look back as far as I can to see if the dog was trying to move or not and surprisingly he liked to ride… So we had about 45 miles to go back to me and mr Davidson was in heaven! In fact, I think he was a bit upset at times that I was blocking his wind!”
The 10-year-old dog quickly settled into Turnbow’s life and fell in love with his new dad. Turnbow loved Mr. Davidson as much as the dog loved him. He even wrote a sweet song about chickens. Two years after being rescued, Mr Davidson is still happy as can be with Turnbow. These two love to sit together by the fire after a long day of work!
Fortunately, Turnbow was in the right place at the right time, and because of that, he was able to save this dog who had no one else in the world. We are so glad these two found each other!
