If you were among the millions who tuned into Super Bowl LVII, you probably caught those two dog-centric commercials.
The Farmer’s Dog ad was a real tearjerker, melting my heart in seconds. But the message in Amazon’s ad was a bit misleading, suggesting that getting a second dog might solve your first dog’s behavioral issues.
Diamond’s Friends Pet Rescue weighed in on Instagram, cautioning, “Don’t let the [Amazon] dog commercial mislead you. A second dog isn’t the magic cure for issues like separation anxiety.”
In reality, bringing home another dog might just double the trouble. Ideally, the fictional family in the ad should have first focused on ensuring their existing dog’s well-being. Only after that should they have considered adding another pup to the mix.
