Every family usually has that one relative eager to dote on every newborn. In Hanna Colson’s world, that enthusiastic figure is Fig, who wholeheartedly embraces his role.
Let’s first talk about Olive, Colson’s golden retriever. She recently became a mom to a notably large litter of puppies. Like any new mother, Olive tries her best to cater to her babies, but every now and then, even the most dedicated mom needs a breather. That’s where Fig steps in.
In a TikTok video shared by Colson on Aug. 1, we see Olive, Fig, and one of Olive’s puppies relaxing on the floor. Suddenly, the puppy becomes restless. Why? Well, puppies have their moments. While Olive seems pretty relaxed, Fig jumps right into action, ready to comfort.

In an instant, the fluffy blend of Burmese and ragdoll swoops down on the golden puppy, comforting its whimpers with a blend of soft fur, gentle embraces, and grooming. Olive watches, seemingly uncertain of how to react. When the puppy’s cries emerge again, Fig doubles down with his signature thorough grooming, making Olive think it might be best to just step back and check on her other puppies. The video, which has garnered 14.4 million views, concludes with Fig keeping the puppy in a delightful snuggly grip, much like a loving headlock. It’s a gesture we could all use now and then, and the puppy seems to appreciate it, resting peacefully in Uncle Fig’s warm hold.
